Mortality Pavilion is an elevated, organic loop which begins where it ends. It follows a lush, tropical path in Simpson Hammock Park in Brickell, Miami. Meant to offer shelter from the extreme elements of the subtropics, Mortality Pavilion is also an opportunity to reflect on our limited existence on this Earth. Punctuated with a semi-open foyer, library, office and bathroom, Mortality Pavilion culminates in a meditation chamber with vaulted aluminum walls, skylights and a viewing window onto tropical flora.
